The Importance of Making a Will
Creating a will is one of the most important steps in ensuring that your estate is handled according to your wishes after your death. A will allows you to clearly state who will benefit from your assets, assign guardians for minor children, and make provisions for the distribution of personal belongings. Without a will, your estate will be distributed according to UK law, which may not reflect your personal wishes. Protecting your loved ones and making sure your estate is managed the way you desire can prevent unnecessary legal challenges and family disputes.
Timeframe for Creating Your Will
Once you decide to create your will, the process begins smoothly and efficiently. Here’s what to expect:
Step 1: Payment and Gathering Information
After paying for the will service, you will need to gather essential information. This includes: Details of your beneficiaries (people who will inherit your estate). Your executor(s) (the person or people who will carry out your wishes). Any specific funeral arrangements or preferences. Information on any guardians for your children (if applicable). A list of personal assets (property, finances, and valuables).
Step 2: Booking the Appointment
Once you’ve gathered all the necessary details, we will arrange a convenient time for one of our experienced will writers to call you. During this call, we will collect all the required information to begin drafting your will.
Step 3: Drafting the Will
After your appointment, we will draft your will within 48 hours and provide it to you for review.
Step 4: Reviewing and Finalizing
You will have the opportunity to review the draft and ensure all details are correct. If any changes or amendments are needed, you can send them back, and we will provide the final draft within 24 hours of receiving your feedback.
Step 5: Final Delivery
Once the will is finalized, you will have the option to either download, print, and sign the will yourself, or if you have opted for recorded delivery, you will receive the finalized will in the post within 3 working days.
